Mr. Bocherel has over 25 years of professional experience developing and managing new business ventures and projects in the energy sector. Mr. Bocherel has authored numerous studies, conducted market analyses, developed proposals, negotiated business contracts, and led and worked in international teams. He leads GRT Energy business development of projects related to renewable resources, energy conservation, natural gas and electricity.
He takes in charge the innovation aspect of clients’ projects. Prior to creating GRT Energy Mr. Bocherel was Vice President New Ventures and Innovation for GDF Energy, the US subsidiary of Gaz de France, where he led the study group on innovation, technology transfer and venture capital in the energy sector and selected segments of the utility markets.
He taught innovation management, technology transfer and the energy industry at Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, NY; Clark University, Worcester, MA; and École Polytechnique of Montreal. Mr. Bocherel also worked as senior advisor for Gaz Metropolitain, Montreal, QC where he assisted in-house teams to select appropriate solutions to respond to the needs of the company’s customers.
He led the creation of three businesses related to technology transfer and innovation management in Canada and the United States. Before coming to North America Mr. Bocherel held various positions for Gaz de France, for whom he developed and led an international technical assistance team for three years. Previously he worked in the Ivory Coast and in Iraq as a startup engineer on energy projects.
Mr. Bocherel has a Master in Petroleum Engineering from École Nationale des Pétroles et Moteurs (ENSPM) and a BA in administration, accounting and finance from Institut de Gestion. Mr. Bocherel is fluent in English, as well as in French, his native language.
